The UK's Journey to Equality (MED5155: Television Narratives)

This was created for one of my university modules (MED5155) and was during December 2020. All measures against Covid-19 were followed in line with the UK Government advice. This included social distancing and the wearing of face coverings. The UK's Journey to Equality is a short documentary about racism in the UK as it explores the UK's history and how we can move to a fairer and 'equal' society. It involves an interview with a lecturer of Criminology at Birmingham City University, Dr Martin Glynn. This improved my skills in camera operating and editing. I also improved my skills in screen recording, in terms of the interview. Photographs of Black Lives Matter Protests provided by Carla Choppy. There are three types of fair dealing set out in section 30:- 1. for the purpose of reporting current events; 2. for the purpose of criticism or review; and 3. the use of a quotation from a copyright work. Recent changes in 2014 to the law of fair dealing provide that “Copyright in a work is not infringed by the use of a quotation from the work (whether for criticism or review or otherwise)” provided that: - 1. the work has been made available to the public; 2. the use of the quotation is fair dealing with the work; 3. the extent of the quotation is no more than is required by the specific purpose for which it is used; and 4. the quotation is accompanied by a sufficient acknowledgement (unless this would be impossible for reasons of practicality or otherwise) Music Licene Infomation: “Prelude and Action” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ “Snowdrop” Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Trade Off: Cancel Culture (ADM4002: Collaborative Project)

This was originally created for one of my university modules (ADM4002) and was filmed on the 2nd March 2020 before lockdown measures took place in the UK. Trade Off is a debate show, where two sides discuss topics and try to find a common meaning between them. This 'episode' is based on cancel culture. This improved my skills in multi-camera operating and editing. I utilised the Sony Z150 cameras and editing suite Premiere Pro.
